Atascadero Police Searching for 7-Eleven Robbery Suspects

ATASCADERO, Calif. - Early Thursday morning two suspects robbed a 7-Eleven at gunpoint and got away with cash.

According to police, at approximately 2:56am, officers from the Atascadero Police Department responded to the 7-Eleven convenience store located at 8000 El Camino Real in Atascadero for a report of robbery alarm activation.  On arrival, officers determined that a robbery did occur.  During the robbery, two male suspects entered the business, one of whom was armed with a semi-automatic handgun. They forced the clerk, at gunpoint, to give them cash from the cash register.  The suspects also took packages of cigarettes.

Man Robs Paso Robles Bank, Police Searching for Suspect

PASO ROBLES, Calif. - Paso Robles Police are looking for a man who walked into a bank on Tuesday morning and held it up.

Police say on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at approximately 9:20AM the Paso Robles Police Department received multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding an armed robbery in progress at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 546 Spring Street.

The reporting parties stated an armed suspect entered the bank armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The suspect committed the robbery and fled the scene prior to the arrival of PRPD officers. The suspect (pictured below) was described as a white male adult, 6-2" to 6-3" weighing approximately 220 pounds. The suspect was wearing dark blue bandanas covering his head and face, dark sunglasses, gloves, and a light blue long sleeved flannel shirt with another flannel shirt underneath. The suspect fled the area in an older model Ford Explorer, maroon or burgundy in color, with a slight lift and oversize off-road style tires.

San Luis Obispo County Man Arrested for Child Pornography

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - A San Luis Obispo County man, arrested last week, is being charged with receiving, possessing and distributing child pornography.

In a release from the FBI:

A San Luis Obispo man was arrested last week on federal charges alleging he received, possessed and distributed child pornography, announced Bill Lewis, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office, and Andrë Birotte Jr., the United States Attorney for the Central District of California.

Bruce Klickstein, 59, was arrested Wednesday, June 12, by FBI agents without incident after being named in a three count indictment returned by a federal grand jury. During his initial court appearance on Thursday afternoon in United States District Court in Los Angeles, Klickstein was released to serve home detention pending trial. A trial date is scheduled for August 6 in U.S.

Two Arrested in Weekend Party Stabbing

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Santa Maria Police arrest two people they say are connected with a stabbing that happened over the weekend.

It happened at about 10:40pm Sunday in the 900 block of West Morrison. When officers arrived they found two people who had been stabbed in a gang fight. Police later arrested Michael Anthony Uvalle, 22, and Rodolfo Perez, 21, for attempted murder.

"We have information that there were two separate gangs were attending the same event, the same party. And a bottle was thrown that kind of was the impetus to get this started," said Lieutenant Kim Graham, Santa Maria Police Department.

Both victims sustained substantial injuries and were each listed in stable condition. The case is believed to be gang related.

NIPOMO, Calif. - Authorities recovered marijuana from a "suspicious package" found in Nipomo on Monday afternoon.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office received a call about the package around 1:00pm.  An employee from the T. Simons Company on the 200 block of West Tefft Street said they received a package with their company listed as the return address, but they didn't remember sending it out.

"The employees at this business did everything they were supposed to do," said Tony Cipolla, the public information officer for the SLO County Sheriff's Department.   "When you see something that doesn't look right and doesn't seem right, give us a call and let us check it out."

Highway One Crash Airlifts One to Hospital, Two Others Taken by Ambulance

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. -- A Cadillac SUV driving northbound on highway one Monday morning at Jalama Road in Santa Barbara County sideswiped one pick-up truck and then hit another head on.

The California Highway Patrol says the driver of the Cadillac SUV was traveling northbound when it went around a curve and crossed over the double yellow lines. That's when it hit the guardrail and careened off, hitting the two pickup trucks.

CHP Buellton Officer John Allen says, "the passenger in the pickup that was hit head on was taken by CALSTAR helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and two minor injuries were transferred by ambulance."

A witness tells the CHP the driver was not speeding but, it is not known if the driver was asleep or changing lanes.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

9th Person Arrested in Connection with Santa Maria Homicide

9th Person Arrested in Connection with Santa Maria Homicide

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Central Coast News has learned there has been a 9th arrest in connection with the Donovan St. Homicide. According to Santa Maria Police, 19-year-old Verenisa Aviles is in custody and linked to the homicide of Anthony Ibarra.

Police say as a result of the continuing investigation into the homicide that occurred on March 18, Aviles was taken into custody Monday on an unrelated matter. They say this 9th suspect had the additional charges associated with this crime added on Tuesday. 

Aviles is being held at the Santa Barbara County Jail on a no-bail warrant. Police say she faces murder and gang enhancement charges.
